Mai 2000 – Der PSI-Konzern hat im ersten Quartal 2000 den Umsatz gegenüber dem Vorjahresquartal um 32% auf 60,6 Millionen DM (1999: 45,8 Millionen DM) gesteigert. Das operative Ergebnis verbesserte sich auf 0,5 Millionen DM (1999: -5,7 Millionen DM). Durch die führende Position der PSI im Zukunftsmarkt Ressourcen-Management via Internet konnte der Auftragseingang sogar auf über 75 Millionen DM verdoppelt werden. Neben der allgemeinen Belebung des Softwaremarktes nach dem Jahr 2000 haben sich auch die hohen Investitionen des Vorjahres in die neue Version der internetfähigen Business-Lösung PSIPENTA positiv bemerkbar gemacht. Das gute Ergebnis des ersten Quartals bestätigt auch die ehrgeizige Planung für das Gesamtjahr. Für das Jahr 2000 ist eine Steigerung des Umsatzes auf über 300 Millionen DM sowie die Rückkehr in die Gewinnzone geplant. Die Mitarbeiterzahl stieg im ersten Quartal im Konzern auf 1222. Dies ist von besonderer Bedeutung, da qualifizierte und motivierte Mitarbeiter die Voraussetzung für das weitere Wachstum der PSI sind. Auch die Integration der seit dem Börsengang akquirierten neuen Tochterunternehmen verläuft sehr positiv. Hervorzuheben sind hier speziell die PSI-BT AG, ein zum 1. Januar 2000 gegründetes Joint Venture mit der Deutschen Stahlindustrie, und der eBusiness-Spezialist UBIS. Die PSI-BT konnte schon im ersten operativen Quartal den Auftrags-eingang gegenüber dem Vergleichswert des Vorjahres um 64% auf 13,6 Millionen DM steigern. Die UBIS, an der PSI mit 75% beteiligt ist, zählt zu den wenigen profitablen eBusiness-Anbietern und nimmt eine Führungsposition bei Agentenorientierten Technologien ein. The operating profit improved to DM 0.5 million (1999: DM -5.7 million). As a result of PSI’s leading position in the future-oriented markets of Resource Management via Internet, new orders were even doubled to over DM 75 million. Along with the general recovery of the software market after the Y2K event, the high volume of investment in 1999 for the new version of the Internet-enabled business solution PSIPENTA is displaying a positive result. The good results in the first quarter also confirms the ambitious planning for the entire year. An increase in sales to over DM 300 million and a return to profitability is planned for 2000. The number of employees in the Group grew to 1,222 in the first quarter. This is of particular importance because a qualified and motivated staff is the prerequisite for further growth at PSI. The integration of the new subsidiaries acquired since the IPO is also moving forward positively. In this regard special mention should be made of the PSI-BT AG, a new joint venture with the German steel industry, and the eBusiness specialist UBIS. PSI-BT was able to increase its new orders in the first operative quarter by 64% to DM 13.6 million, compared to the previous year. UBIS, in which PSI has a 75% share, is one of the few profitable eBusiness vendors and takes a leading position in agent-oriented technologies.
