With 30 employees and a turnover of 3.3 million Euro, Buesing & Buchwald GmbH (B&B) is a successful organizational, consulting and software house in the energy industry, concentrating mainly on the gas sector. In addition to the takeover in 2000 of debis’ gas management systems division, this takeover is seen as an important step in solidifying PSI’s market position in the national and international energy business. This strategic move is also seen as completing PSI’s scope of product and services for the sector. Buesing & Buchwald will continue to operate as an independent company within the PSI group. The company’s headquarters will remain in Barsinghausen, and both managing directors will continue to be active within the company. PSI and B&B, both leading suppliers in their respective areas, currently supply European gas supply enterprises (GVU) with different products and services. This fusion will therefore transform PSI into a one-stop-shop, allowing GVUs to purchase a complete range of solutions from data collection to commercial systems and software from one vendor. Expert services in consultancy, organizational development, solutions for a liberalised energy market, as well as classical applications for control technology will be offered to the energy industry. The combination of B&B’s and PSI’s know-how and competence will make available a deep resource pool which will complement PSI’s development and selling capacity. Both partners will work together to strengthen their leadership position in Germany and continue to expand our presence in the European and international energy market. The acquisition of the B&B will already have a positive effect on PSI’s results in the financial year 2002.
