Basis of Accounting [Text Block]	Note 1: Basis of Financial Statement Presentation The Consolidated Balance Sheet at December 31, 2014 has been derived from the audited financial statements of Patriot National Bancorp, Inc. (the “Company”) at that date, but does not include all of the information and footnotes required by accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America for complete financial statements. The accompanying unaudited financial statements and related notes have been prepared pursuant to the rules and regulations of the Securities and Exchange Commission. Accordingly, certain information and footnote disclosures normally included in financial statements prepared in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America have been omitted. The accompanying consolidated financial statements and related notes should be read in conjunction with the previously filed audited financial statements of the Company and notes thereto for the year ended December 31, 2014. The information furnished reflects, in the opinion of management, all normal recurring adjustments necessary for a fair presentation of the results for the interim periods presented. The results of operations for the nine months ended September 30, 2015 are not necessarily indicative of the results of operations that may be expected for the remainder of 2015.
