15 January 2009 Company announcement no. 01-09 Søndagsavisen a-s downgrades expectations for profit before tax for 2008 - primarily as a result of impairment of assets. The Group's revenue for 2008 including divested activities is expected to be at the level of DKK 1,525 million, which is in line with current expectations. Consolidated profit before tax for 2008 is now expected to amount to DKK 195-215 million, including non-recurring income of approximately DKK 275 million from the sale of both Gratistidningar i Sverige AB (GISAB) and Norsk Avisdrift AS (NAD). Expectations for profit for the year before tax are down by DKK 100 million compared with the previous expectations. Of this amount approx. DKK 15 million reflects a lower profit from ordinary activities, and approx. DKK 65 million represents impairment of assets mainly as a result of reduced demand for printing jobs and a negative trend in the advertisement markets. In addition, the lower Swedish krone rate has reduced the gain from the sale of GISAB in the form of realised and unrealised exchange losses in a total amount of approx. DKK 20 million. As a result of the downgrading of expectations for profit before tax for 2008, the Board of Directors will reconsider its recommendation to the general meeting in 2009 concerning payment of a dividend of DKK 8.00 per share of a nominal value of DKK 5.00, as stated in company announcement no. 14-08 on 25 September 2008. The Management is highly aware of the difficult market conditions caused by generally declining demand, especially in the depressed market for recruitment advertisements whether in print or on the Internet, and thus also of the need to make the necessary market adjustments.
