Tivoli A/S and Arp-Hansen Hotel Group A/S have today entered into a strategic cooperation regarding the development of a new Tivoli themed hotel with app. 400 rooms. The hotel will open at the same time as Copenhagen's new congress centre, Tivoli Congress Center, Downtown Copenhagen, at Kalvebod Brygge. Both the hotel and congress centre will be built, owned and operated by Arp-Hansen Hotel Group. This collaboration is a realisation of yet another element of Tivoli's strategy to handle a greater part of the value chain by providing its guests a total experience and create an exciting thematic hotel close to the amusement park. The collaboration is expected to provide Tivoli a royalty payment of DKK 2 - 4 million annually. In addition, Tivoli is expected to have increased revenue from admission and booking fees. The agreement is exclusive within the mid-market hotel segment and runs for 20 years after the opening of the hotel. The hotel profile is aimed at both business guests and the family segment and simultaneously provides an excellent launching pad for Arp-Hansen Group's plan to provide a major new congress centre for Copenhagen. “For many years Tivoli has wanted to develop its position within the tourism value chain. A family-class Tivoli hotel is a good extension of our strategy of moving Tivoli from being a sea-sonal to a year a round business with several different revenue streams. This spring Tivoli will, in cooperation with Løgismose, be opening the first hotel with 13 luxury suites at Nimb. This will take us part of the way - primarily at the exclusive end of the scale. With the agreement with Arp-Hansen, we are taking a giant leap in relation to the family and business segment with a hotel partner known for high quality and good service,” says Tivoli CEO Lars Liebst.
