QSC AG, a professional DSL service provider in Germany, has signed an agreement with the Munich-based mobile telephony provider O2 Germany GmbH & Co. OHG for the implementation and operation of Q-DSL lines in 103 O2 shops throughout Germany. The agreement was concluded for a two-year term. The connections were online on 15 November 2002 – following an installation phase of only six weeks. Once O2 has networked its shops via Q-DSL, the mobile telephony company will install its own Virtual Private Network (VPN), over which it intends to handle the activation of subscriber accounts as well as all business processes. “The crucial factors that led to selecting QSC as our DSL partner were the enormous flexibility in their product portfolio and the impressive service and consulting expertise of their sales operation”, said Günter Weichinger, Head of Leased Line Management at O2. During the design and planning phase for the O2- VPN, especially, QSC was able to respond flexibly at all times to the various requirements. “This shows that we can respond optimally to the needs and requirements of large companies”, says Joachim Herrmann, Head of Sales Business Customers at QSC AG.
