Basis of Presentation	1. Basis of Presentation The accompanying unaudited condensed consolidated financial statements of American Electric Technologies, Inc. and its wholly-owned subsidiaries (“AETI”, “the Company”, “our”, “we”, “us”) have been prepared in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America (“U.S. GAAP”) for interim financial information and include all adjustments which, in the opinion of management, are necessary for a fair presentation of financial position as of March 31, 2016 and December 31, 2015 and results of operations for the three months ended March 31, 2016 and 2015. All adjustments are of a normal recurring nature. The results of operations for interim periods are not necessarily indicative of the results to be expected for a full year. Certain information and footnote disclosures normally included in the financial statements prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAP have been condensed or omitted. The statements should be read in conjunction with the Company’s consolidated financial statements included in our Annual Report on Form 10-K for the year ended December 31, 2015, which was filed on March 30, 2016. All dollar amounts disclosed in the footnotes are stated in thousands.
