18. Related Parties

Details of transactions between the Company and other related parties are disclosed below and in other notes according to the nature of the transactions. All transactions are measured at the exchange amount, which is the amount of consideration determined and agreed to by the related parties.

For the years ended December 31, 2020 and 2019, the Company recorded expenses of $0 and $1.3 million, respectively, for research services and rent paid by the Company to entities affiliated with a shareholder. As of December 31, 2020 and 2019, there was a total of $0 and $0.2 million, respectively, in accounts payable and accrued expenses and other current liabilities owed to an entity affiliated with a shareholder.
