DM kräftig gesteigert. Das geplante Wachstum von 15 Prozent wurde damit erneut deutlich übertroffen. Die Gesamtleistung des Weltmarktführers für High-Tech-Geräte zur thermischen Speisenzubereitung erhöhte sich sogar um 24 Prozent auf 211,9 (170,7) Mio. DM. Besonders erfreulich entwickelte sich das Auslandsgeschäft, dessen Anteil am Umsatz auf 78 (77) Prozent kletterte. Überproportionale Steigerungen verzeichneten insbesondere die Tochtergesellschaften von RATIONAL in den USA, Italien und der Schweiz. Trotz umfangreicher Investitionen in den Ausbau des weltweiten Vertriebs- und Marketingnetzes konnte das Betriebsergebnis (EBlT) deutlich überproportional um 28 Prozent auf 34,6 (27,0) Mio. DM (ohne IPO-Kosten) gesteigert werden. Steigende Materialpreise wurden durch erhöhte Produktivität und sinnvolles Kostenmanagement weit überkompensiert. Die Entwicklung des Jahresüberschusses nach DVFA ist, mit plus 41,3 Prozent auf 17,0 (12,0) Mio. DM bzw 1,49 (1,06) DM je Aktie besonders positiv. Auch der Cash Flow gemäß DVFA stieg deutlich um 39,0 Prozent auf 20.8 (14,9) Mio. DM. “Forbes Global” präsentierte in seiner Oktoberausgabe die 300 besten Mittelstandsunternehmen der Welt. Aus diesen Top 300 wurde RATIONAL in die Gruppe der 20 “Star-Unternehmen” mit dem größten Zukunftspotential gewählt. Gründe für diese besondere Auszeichnung waren neben der Schaffung eines neuen Weltmarktes durch die Erfindung der Combi-Dämpfer-Technologie, die aktuelle Innovationsführerschaft im Combi-Dämpfer-Markt mit einem Technologievorsprung von bis zu 7 Jahren, die Weltmarktdominanz mit 44 Prozent Marktanteil insbesondere das starke Wachstum mit hoher Ertragskraft in Verbindung mit einem enormen, noch unerschlossenem Weltmarktpotential. Das weltweite Absatzpotential von 35 Mrd. DM ist heute erst zu 15 Prozent erschlossen. Group sales rose sharply by around 20% to DM 207.7 (173.4) million, well in excess of the target of 15 per cent growth. The overall performance of the world market leader in high-tech equipment for the thermal preparation of food in fact increased by 24% to DM 211.9 (170.7) million. Business outside Germany was particularly gratifying, with the proportion of sales climbing to 78 (77)%. RATIONAL subsidiaries in the US, Italy and Switzerland also posted above-average growth. Despite extensive investment in expanding the international sales and marketing network, the operating result (EBIT) increased by an above-average 28% to DM 34.6 (27.0) million (excluding IPO costs). Rising prices for materials were more than offset by increased productivity and sound cost management. The 41.3% growth in earnings according to DVFA standards to DM 17.0 (12.0) million and DM 1.49 (1.06) per share is extremely positive. Cash flow according to DVFA also rose by 39.0% to DM 20.8 (14.9) million. The October edition of “Forbes Global” turned the spotlight on the world’s 300 best small companies. Out of these, RATIONAL was named as one of the 20 “Star Companies” with the greatest future potential. This was based not only on the creation of a new international market thanks to the invention of combi- steamer technology, but also on the company’s current innovation lead in the combi-steamer market of up to 7 years, its dominant 44% world market share, and in particular its Strong growth and high earning power in conjunction with enormous, as yet untapped international market potential. At the moment only 15% of the potential global sales of DM 35 billion has been exploited.
