Press release Dr Axel Kaufmann takes over as CFO from Erich Baumgaertner Landsberg, September 11th, 2015. Erich Baumgaertner (61) will after more than 17 successful years at RATIONAL step down as CFO on December 31st, 2015. Dr Axel Kaufmann will take over this assignment. Dr Kaufmann (45) has the necessary broad finance and industry background on an international level. He had leading positions in the finance sector in various industries. Since 2010 he was CFO and Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Koenig & Bauer AG, an SDAX listed family business where he was significantly involved in the restructuring and the new strategic alignment of the group. Dr Axel Kaufmann began his career with an apprenticeship at Deutsche Bank. In 1996 he started working with Siemens where he held various managerial functions and gained wide-range experience both nationally and internationally in particular in the financial, supply chain and administrative areas for over 10 years. Thereafter he had a senior position at Nokia Networks for various business units as the Head of Finance and later on in the area of Business Strategy. Dr Kaufmann will start his assignment with RATIONAL on October 1st, 2015 and will gradually take over the tasks and resorts from Erich Baumgaertner.
