[1] The Company incurred higher costs in the fourth quarter of 2016 and 2015 primarily due to: (i) $68,000 and $483,000 of stock and option compensation charges in 2016 and 2015, respectively relating to common stock and options granted to directors and employees, and (ii) $324,000 of bad debt expense in the fourth quarter of 2015 and $480,563 of bad debt expense in the fourth quarter of 2016.
