5. OTHER EXPENSE (INCOME)

 

Other expense (income) in the unaudited interim consolidated statements of operations reports certain gains and losses associated with activities not directly related to our core operations. For the three months ended June 30, 2021, other expense was $36, as compared to other income of $449 during the three months ended June 30, 2020. For the three months ended June 30, 2020, included in other income was a gain of $384 related to the mark to market adjustment on the fair value of the CleanSpark Common Stock and warrants.

 

For the six months ended June 30, 2021, other income was $1.3 million, as compared to other expense of $832 during the six months ended June 30, 2020. For the six months ended June 30, 2021, included in other income was a gain of $1.4 million for the extinguishment and forgiveness of the PPP Loan. For the six months ended June 30, 2020, included in other expense was a loss of $759 related to the mark to market adjustment on the fair value of the CleanSpark Common Stock and warrants.
