Property and Equipment

Property and equipment is stated at cost, net of accumulated depreciation. The Company generally depreciates property and equipment on a straight-line basis over the estimated useful lives of the assets after the assets are placed in service except for NuZee KR which uses the declining balance method. Office equipment is depreciated over a 3-year life, furniture over a 7-year life, and other equipment over a 5-year life. Depreciation expense for the years ended September 30, 2018 and 2017 was $151,848 and $75,917 respectively. Repair and maintenance costs are expensed as incurred. Expenditures associated with upgrades and enhancements that improve, add functionality, or otherwise extend the life of property and equipment that exceed $1,000 are capitalized.
