Subsequent Events [Text Block]	NOTE 22 – SUBSEQUENT EVENTS Effective August 1, 2012, India Globalization Capital, Inc. amended its Amended and Restated Articles of Incorporation in order to give effect to a previously announced increase of its authorized common stock from 75,000,000 shares to 150,000,000 shares. This amendment was approved by the Company's board and its stockholders on a special meeting held on August 25, 2011.  A complete copy of the Company’s Amended and Restated Articles of Incorporation, as amended by the certificate of amendment filed with the State Department of Assessments and Taxation of Maryland on August 1, 2012, was filed as Exhibit 3.1 to Form 8-K filed with the SEC on August 6, 2012. IGC’s FYE 2012 Shareholder Meeting has been scheduled for September 7, 2012.
