ORGANIZATION AND NATURE OF BUSINESS	NOTE 1 – ORGANIZATION AND NATURE OF BUSINESS Company Background Protagenic Therapeutics, Inc. (“we,” “our,” “Protagenic” or “the Company”), formerly known as Atrinsic, Inc., is a Delaware corporation with one subsidiary named Protagenic Therapeutics Canada (2006) Inc. (“PTI Canada”), a corporation formed in 2006 under the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada. We are a biopharmaceutical company specializing in the discovery and development of therapeutics to treat stress-related neuropsychiatric and mood disorders. Reverse Stock Split On March 22, 2023, the Company effectuated a 1 for 4 reverse stock split (the “Reverse Split”). The Company’s stock began trading on a split-adjusted basis effective on the Nasdaq Stock Market on March 22, 2023. There was no change to the number of authorized shares of the Company’s common stock. All share and per share information in these financial statements are adjusted to reflect the Reverse Split.
