RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT EXPENSES	NOTE 18 - RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT EXPENSES The total research and development expenses recognized in the income statements during the three-month and nine-month periods ended September 30, 2012 were $28,478 and $133,802, respectively, of which the consumption of bromine produced by the Company amounted to $8,701 and $32,709, respectively. The total research and development expenses recognized in the income statements during the three-month and nine-month periods ended September 30, 2011 were $33,565 and $347,420, respectively, of which the consumption of bromine produced by the Company amounted to $23,429 and $66,655, respectively.
