Former IGE gold project receives approval - releases USD 1.5 million
payment
IGE Resources AB (OSE: IGE) today announced that Kilimapesa Hill gold
project in Kenya has been advised that all documentation has been
approved by the authorities and that a mining lease is imminent. IGE
sold its interest in the project to Goldplat last year. The approval
releases the payment of the remaining USD 1.5 million to IGE from
Goldplat.
According to Goldplat, all relevant documentation required to obtain a
mining lease for the Kilimapesa Hill gold mine has been approved, with
the company now only waiting for the issuance of a mining right number.
Kenya's Commissioner of Mines and Geology has notified the company that
the documents had been approved, and has committed himself to assist the
company in fast-tracking the mining lease issue.
Goldplat quoted the Commissioner as saying that the Kenyan government
was positive about the granting of a mining lease for the project and
that it viewed this as the start of a new era for gold mining in the
country. Goldplat will now bring the Kilimapesa gold project into
production.
