BCS: Technological advancements and future partnerships

(Bergen, 26 September 2025): Bergen Carbon Solutions AS (BCS, OSE: BCS)

Bergen Carbon Solutions AS (BCS) announces that the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Korean chemical company TKG Huchems expired on 25 September 2025, as per the terms of the extension agreement signed in September 2024.

As communicated across several quarterly updates, BCS has made significant progress in our development of local and sustainable CNT. Over the past two years, our strategic focus has been on process stability, in order to produce a consistent and well defined carbon powder. This deliberate prioritization has enabled us to build a robust foundation for long-term technological advancement.

The specifications in the Huchems agreement were based on conventional fossil-based CNTs, primarily CVD-produced. In contrast, BCS is developing a unique CNT with distinct properties, tailored for emerging applications across various battery chemistries. Our material is not a replica of existing solutions—it represents a new category of clean carbon nanomaterials.

We are increasingly capable of producing consistent CNTs with improving quality, and we are actively testing our materials against multiple battery chemistries. As previously disclosed on our website, we have intensified our internal testing efforts to evaluate the real-life battery performance of our powders.

This evolution in our technological maturity naturally changes our partnering strategy. Future partnerships will reflect our growing emphasis on application-driven innovation, rather than legacy specifications.

BCS remains committed to developing local and sustainable CNT technologies and will continue to engage with partners aligned with our long-term vision.
