Asker, Norway, 1 March 2022

Cambi has won a competitive tender to enter the final stage of a Best Value Procurement process (BVP) with Vestfjorden Avløpsselskap (Veas). Following standard public procurement procedures, phase one will start after the notice period expires on 11 March 2022 (Norwegian ‘karenstid’).

Veas is Norway’s largest wastewater treatment plant, serving more than 800,000 people equivalent from larger parts of Oslo, Asker and Bærum. The project is an upgrade of the dewatering and hygienisation solution to a modern, economical and reliable facility to meet expected new regulations, and at the same time contribute to higher biogas production and enhanced nutrient recovery capabilities.

“We look forward to working closely with Veas in the next phase, and together deliver the best solution to meet their goal of circular economy, best use of resources in wastewater and to keep the Oslo Fjord clean”, said Eirik Fadnes, CEO Cambi Group.

The project budget is NOK 150 million. Phase one of the BVP includes basic design, project optimisation, establishing an execution schedule and a target price. The second phase of the BVP includes final design and construction contract, subject to Veas Board approval of phase one which is expected in the second half this year.
