RHÖN-KLINIKUM AG, Bad Neustadt a.d. Saale
District Council of Sächsische Schweiz votes in favour of Rhön-Klinikum AG to
take over 342-bed hospital in Pirna
Bad Neustadt a.d. Saale, 24 June 2002 ——— The Council of the District of
Sächsische Schweiz today approved by a majority of votes (39 out of 49 votes,
10 abstentions) the sale of the 342-bed district hospital of Pirna (Elbe) to
RHÖN-KLINIKUM AG.
Besides the purchase price in the amount of EUR 8,5 million, the partners to
contract agreed that RHÖN-KLINIKUM will undertake to newly construct the centre
at Pirna, which will enable the private hospital group to make full use of its
leading hospital know-how. As has been shown in the past, RHÖN-KLINIKUMs high
investments following an acquisition and the resulting optimisation of
organisational structures and clinical work flows will form the basis for speedy
improvements in quality and efficiency.
The Pirna facility integrates several medical departments, including general
surgery, internal medicine, gynaecology and obstetrics, paediatrics, psychiatry,
and ENT.
The final contract negotiations will be concluded within short, with the
transfer of ownership expected to take effect on 1 October 2002.
