For several years, Havyard Group has carried out research and development work on hydrogen propulsion of large vessels, for example through the Pilot E-project, in order to develop a large-scale maritime hydrogen project. In 2021, the first system will be ready for approval in principle, and where know-how and expertise will now be brought together in the newly established company Havyard Hydrogen AS.
