Oslo, Norway, 13 November 2019: IDEX Biometrics ASA, a leading provider of
advanced fingerprint identification and authentication solutions, has been
chosen by DongWoon Anatech, a specialist inlay and biometric algorithm supplier
in Asia, to supply its SmartFinger(®) IDX 3200 sensor for use in secure access
biometric ID cards.
IDEX was chosen by DongWoon Anatech as the partner of choice in this application
because its leading dual-interface sensor provides superior biometric
performance, low power consumption and increased sensor flexibility. Dongwoon
Anatech will work with a third-party card manufacturer to produce the final
secure access ID card, planning for global promotion and supply.
The secure access market is evolving at a rapid pace and the introduction of
biometrics offers end-users a unique and personalised security solution. This
agreement with DongWoon Anatech builds on IDEX's earlier success in the secure
access market following the multi-year shipment agreement with the provider of
global financial news and IT services announced in April this year. IDEX expects
material shipments of sensors for this market to begin in H1 2020.
