Quartal in der Unternehmensgeschichte ab Walldorf, 7. Januar 2000. Die SAP AG hat einer ersten Analyse der vorläufigen Geschäftszahlen zufolge einen Umsatz mit neuen Softwarelizenzen von nahezu 800 Mio. EUR im 4. Quartal 1999 erzielt. Dies entspricht einer Steigerung gegenüber dem Vorjahresquartal von ungefähr 40% und gegenüber dem Vorquartal von rund 150%. Der Gesamtumsatz im 4. Quartal 1999 wuchs um rund 25% gegenüber dem Vorjahresquartal. Aufgrund des starken Umsatzes mit neuen Softwarelizenzen im 4. Quartal wird die SAP ihr Ziel erreichen, den Umsatz im Geschäftsjahr 1999 um 15 bis 20% zu steigern. Das Ergebnis vor Steuern im 4. Quartal (ohne STAR) wird sich voraussichtlich gegenüber dem Vorjahresquartal ungefähr verdoppelt haben. Dies ist auf das starke Wachstum im Umsatz mit neuen Softwarelizenzen sowie auf das Finanzergebnis von annähernd 200 Mio. EUR durch die Rückbildung von Beteiligungen zurückzuführen. Selbst unter Berücksichtigung der Rückstellungen im 4. Quartal für das Mitarbeiterbonusprogramm STAR in Höhe von rund 120 Mio. EUR wird das Ergebnis vor Steuern deutlich höher ausfallen als im 4. Quartal 1998. Genaue Angaben zum vorläufigen Ergebnis des Geschäftsjahrs 1999 wird die SAP AG am 24. Januar 2000 veröffentlichen. *** ENGLISH VERSION *** STRONGEST FOURTH QUARTER IN SAP HISTORY WALLDORF, Germany. January 7, 2000 – SAP AG (NYSE: SAP), the leading provider of inter-enterprise solutions, today announced that an initial analysis of its preliminary results show that new software license revenue in the fourth quarter reached close to EUR 800 million, an increase of approximately 40% compared to the fourth quarter of 1998, and roughly 150% above the third quarter of 1999. Total revenues for the fourth quarter of 1999 grew by approximately 25% compared to the same period in 1998. As a result of strong new software license sales in the fourth quarter, SAP will achieve its 1999 targeted revenue growth of between 15 and 20%. The substantial increase in new software license revenues in the fourth quarter, combined with almost EUR 200 million of income from the sale of a number of equity investments, resulted in roughly a doubling of fourth quarter pre-tax profits (excluding the impact of STARs), as compared to the same quarter last year. Fourth quarter pre-tax profits will be significantly higher than the fourth quarter of 1998, even after considering charges of roughly EUR 120 million in the fourth quarter of 1999 for SAP’s STAR employee bonus program.
