North Energy ASA (“North Energy” or “Company”) announces that the Board of North Energy and Mr. Knut Sæberg have agreed that Mr. Sæberg will retire from his position as CEO on 31 December 2021.

The Board is pleased to announce that Mr. Rachid Bendriss and Mr. Didrik Leikvang have accepted roles as co-CEOs in the Company effective from 1 January 2022. Both Mr. Leikvang and Mr. Bendriss have been engaged as strategic and financial advisors for the company since 2016. While Mr. Bendriss will formally assume the role as CEO of North Energy, Mr. Bendriss and Mr. Leikvang will function as co-CEOs and collectively hold joint responsibility for managing the business.

Anders Onarheim, the Chairman of the Board, comments:
“I would like to thank Mr. Sæberg for 13 years of dedicated service to North Energy, the first 6 years as CFO. Mr. Sæberg took the Company through a listing on the Oslo Stock Exchange in 2010 and was instrumental in financing the Company. He was appointed CEO in 2014 and subsequent to the strategic reorganization initiated in 2016, he has led North Energy through a successful strategic turnaround from an oil company to an industrial investment company. The implementation of this new strategy has given North Energy a good platform for further growth. Going forward, I am pleased that Mr. Sæberg for a period will be available for the company.

Further, I am delighted to welcome Mr. Bendriss and Mr. Leikvang to their new role as co-CEOs. With their background and experience, and instrumental role in supporting North Energy’s strategic turnaround, I am confident that they will continue to strengthen North Energy’s position as an industrial investment company focused on long term value creation”.

Further, the Company has agreed with Mr. Rune Damm that he will assume the position of CFO from 1 January 2022. Mr. Damm has served as the Company’s Finance Manager since 2015.
