NEW CONTRACTS WITHIN MARINE TO SCANA

Scana Industrier ASA has through its subsidiary Scana Volda AS been awarded two
new contracts for gear and cp-propeller systems for delivery at Chinese
shipyards.

The first delivery consist of four reduction gears for two oil recovery vessels
for China National Offshore Oil Cooperation (CNOOC). Delivery will take place in
2010. The vessels will be built at Guangzhou Huangpu Shipyard.

The second delivery consists of two gear and cp-propeller systems for a Havyard
designed AHTS (anchor handling tug supply vessel) for Sinopec that will be built
at the Yuexin Shipyard. Scana's deliveries will be in March 2011.

The aggregated contract value is approximately 30 MNOK ($5.2 mill). Scana has
also entered into several new contracts for service and repairs of propulsion
systems. With these orders, activity level at Scana Volda AS should be ample
this year.

The marine and ships building markets will be challenging until 2011 due to a
low number of new orders and severe competition. These contracts, and the fact
that new tenders seem firmer, indicate a certain positive trend in the markets.
