New contracts to Scana Steel Stavanger
Scana Industrier ASA has through its subsidiary, Scana Steel Stavanger AS
been awarded contracts for supply of Stromhard wear steel to LKAB in Sweden, and
also cast steel integrals to the hull structure in a Semisub platform.
During 2011, Scana Steel Stavanger will deliver cast steel components that will
be used to protect fallout-shafts in the new mining level to LKAB's processing
plant in Kiruna. LKAB is a world leader in the production of processed iron ore
products for the steel industry.
LKAB chose Scana Steel Stavanger AS as supplier because of the high quality and
wear resistant steel.
Scana Steel Stavanger AS has also been awarded a contract to supply cast steel
integrals for a Semisub platform that will be built in South-Korea. Production
will start in early 2011 for delivery in June 2011. The order is a result of the
company's excellent references from previous deliveries of similar products.
The orders, which have a total value of NOK 30 million, confirm Scana Steel
Stavanger's position as a quality supplier of Stromhard wear steal to mining
industry and high quality castings to the Oil and Gas Industry.
