Veidekke ASA: To continue relocation of historic buildings in Kiruna

Veidekke has signed a contract with LKAB concerning relocation of another five
historic buildings in Kiruna. The project is part of the transformation of the
city of Kiruna, which involves moving the city centre to a new location. The
collaborative design and build contract, which will be executed by the Veidekke
unit Berggren & Bergman, has a value of approx. SEK 120 million.

"We are excited about the opportunity to further build on our strong cooperation
from the ongoing relocation of "Gula raden" and the 16-room workmen's dwellings
as well as the first phase of the current project. Strong commitment has enabled
us to achieve good results together by involving all expertise. Working with a
knowledgeable team that understands what LKAB wants this transformation to
achieve, drives confidence," Mari Kuokkanen, project manager for LKAB's
transformation of Kiruna.

Currently being prepared for relocation are some of Kiruna's most characteristic
wooden buildings - the SJ houses on Rälsgatan 11-15 and Baningenjörsvägen 5 and
7 with associated buildings.

The project is a collaboration between LKAB, Berggren and Bergman, LTH Traktor,
and ER Bygg. In a collaborative project, the client and contractor cooperate
closely on design, project documents and execution.

The actual relocation is planned for autumn 2022. Once the move is completed,
rehabilitation, refurbishment, extensions and other constructions will continue,
up until completion in autumn 2024.

"We appreciate being entrusted with the project and look forward to continuing
our work together through involvement and collaboration. This is an exciting
assignment, which plays a vital role in the new Kiruna that is currently under
construction," says Peter Johansson, project manager, Berggren & Bergman.

The SJ houses are some of Kiruna's many architecturally distinctive wooden
buildings scheduled to move to new addresses in the upcoming years, and are
included in the third stage of the planned migration of 39 historic buildings by
2035.

The contract is included in the order book for the third quarter 2021.
