Veidekke: To build cultural centre for Sigtuna municipality

Veidekke has been contracted to build a cultural centre for Sigtuna municipality
outside Stockholm. The collaborative design and build contract at Valsta Torg in
Märsta has a value of approximately SEK 117 million and is expected to be
completed in autumn 2026.

"The new cultural centre in Valsta is an important piece in the development of a
vibrant town square and a meeting place for people of all ages. With an emphasis
on sustainability and safety, and together with Veidekke, we are creating a
location for cultural events that can make both Valsta and the entire Sigtuna
municipality stronger," says Åsa Aalto at Sigtuna municipality.

The contract comprises a newbuild over two floors of just over 2,000 square
meters, which will include i.a. a café, library, art and premises for cultural
events and meetings. The building will be erected primarily in wood, in
accordance with Miljöbyggnad Silver certification levels. Production will be
executed in line with Rättvist byggande (Fair Construction), and the outdoor
environment will be designed in accordance with the BoTryggt2030 guidelines for
safe and secure urban and residential environments.

which is economically, socially and environmentally sustainable and will improve
the quality of life of Sigtuna's residents," says Mattias Uppsäll, project
manager at Veidekke Bygg Öst.

Valsta's new cultural centre will provide a vibrant meeting place, offering
cultural events, activities and services for people of all ages. The
construction of a cultural centre is part of the Valsta 2030 development
proposal and "Samhällsbyggnadslyftet", a cross-municipalities initiative
intended to reduce and counteract segregation, and render the municipality more
attractive.
