secunet Security Networks AG presents new Managing Board spokesman
Dr. Rainer Baumgart (46) has been appointed spokesman for the Managing Board of
secunet Security Networks AG and will be taking up his new post on February 1,
2001. Dr. Baumgart, currently a member of the Managing Board of secunet, is thus
succeeding Mr. Willi Mannheims, who is leaving the company on January 31, 2001,
at his own request and with the full agreement of the Supervisory Board.
Last year, secunet consolidated its international activities through the
acquisition and establishment of companies in the US, Switzerland, the
Netherlands and Portugal. With a workforce of 230 employees and 13 locations in
6 countries, secunet has an excellent platform from which to strengthen and
increase its competitive edge.
Dr. Baumgart, a PhD in physics, played a major role in the founding and
development of secunet. His expertise in the field of information security has
already gained him an international reputation. Dr. Baumgart was employed by the
TÜV-Mitte Group from 1987 onward prior to joining secunet.
secunet’s goal for 2001 is to reach breakeven point and to attain its ambitious
growth targets. With this internal restructuring measure, the secunet Managing
Board is receiving the full backing of its principal shareholders, TÜV Mitte AG
and Deutsche Telekom AG, and is convinced that the new measure will help
maintain the company’s profitable growth.
