The sender is solely responsible for the contents of this announcement. —————————————————————————— secunet AG: Preliminary Figures 2004 – Best Year since Company’s Foundation – Revenues up by more than 53 % to Euro 32.4 million – Improvement of Earnings to Euro 0.5 million [Essen, 4 February 2005] – According to preliminary results, secunet Security Networks AG achieved revenues of Euro 32.4 million in the financial year 2004. This corresponds to a growth rate of more than 53 % in comparison with the previous year. At the same time, secunet generated an operative income (EBIT) of Euro 0.5 million. Hence, 2004 was the best year in the company’s history so far. A positive turnaround in the business development already occurred after the first nine months of the last financial year. Actually, the overall results for the year 2004 were achieved due to the very successful fourth quarter. In this period alone secunet generated revenues of Euro 13.6 million, i.e. surpassed Q4/2003 revenues by approximately 119 %. Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) were increased from Euro 0.1 million in the previous year to about Euro 1.1 million. The high revenues in the fourth quarter of 2004 led to a decrease in orders on hand, yet this figure still amounts to Euro 11.1 million and surpasses the previous year value (Euro 6.1 million) by more than 81 %. “secunet achieved the best year and the best fourth quarter in its history,” said Dr. Rainer Baumgart, CEO of secunet Security Networks AG. “IT high-level security made in Germany is in great demand – we are well positioned on our core market and expect good growth opportunities as well as enhanced profitability for the future.” Thus in the financial year 2005, secunet will focus on improving profitability while further increasing revenues. secunet will publish final results for the financial year 2004 and the annual report 2004 on 9 March 2005.
