secunet reorganizes international activities

[Essen, December 17, 2010] secunet Security Networks AG is reorganizing its
international activities: in future, business in foreign countries is to
take place primarily through the capable International Sales business unit
or through local partners. Foreign subsidiaries will no longer be used as a
basis for business activities. As a result of this strategic decision,
secunet AG will discontinue the business operations of its subsidiaries
secunet s.r.o. in the Czech Republic and secunet SwissIT in Switzerland.
The companies are planned to enter liquidation in 2011. Customers of
secunet in Switzerland and the Czech Republic will furthermore be served by
secunet from Germany or by partners in the respective countries.
'Over the past years, our international activities have continuously grown
and will be intensified in the future. However, the majority of this past
growth was driven by International Sales operating from Germany and local
partners,' explains Dr. Rainer Baumgart, CEO of secunet AG. 'From an
efficiency point of view, it is therefore logical to close down our own
foreign subsidiaries. Our International Sales business unit and the local
partners are excellently networked in the target countries: they will
support the future growth of our business in foreign countries.'
