The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES Reports Preliminary (Unaudited) Figures for 2001: Revenues: 225.5 million Euro, After-Tax Earnings: 27.9 million Euro Kahl, 2002-02-28: SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES announces revenues totaling approx. 225.5 million Euro for the concluded fiscal year 2001, exceeding even the proceeds most recently projected by the company in its quarterly report issued last Fall (215-225 million Euro). Following fourth quarter revenues of 49.7 million Euro (2000 = 105.1 million Euro), the order intake of 51.5 million Euro (Q4 2000 = 38.4 million Euro) gratifyingly demonstrates distinct upward trend. Projected after-tax earnings of 27.9 million Euro for the year exceed market expectations. Consequently, SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES remains one of the companies with the strongest earnings on the NEMAX 50, entering fiscal 2002 with an order backlog of 55 million Euro. No longer included in this figure is a residual DVD order, with an undetermined delivery deferral. Strong growth is expected particularly for DVD in 2002, with a percentage rate in the double digits. The largest company in the industry, SINGULUS has continued to expand its market leadership position in CD and DVD replication lines. At the beginning of 2002, SINGULUS became a comprehensive supplier of all essential manufacturing processes in the optical disc market through the acquisition of the molding machine manufacturer EMOULD in Aachen and the mastering experts OMP in Best/Nl. Integration into the SINGULUS group provides both companies with the prerequisites for substantial growth. Most line orders now include EMOULD injection molding machine. Access to the emerging field of rewritabe media was achieved by the sale of the first two SUNLINE systems and additional MODULUS systems. SINGULUS is currently the only company able to deliver comprehensive replication systems (molding machine & metallizer & system & process) for all rewritable formats (CD-RW, DVD- RW, DVD+RW, DVD-RAM).
