SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES Establishes a Third Business Sector and Expands Managing
Board
Prior to year-end, the company had announced that, in addition to its core
business of optical disc machine and systems manufacturing, it would seek out
new fields of operation in order to secure long-term growth in the future.
Following the launch of TMR thin film deposition technology for MRAM wafers and
read-write heads for magnetic hard disc drives in 2002, SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES
most recently joined forces with a well-known key customer to develop an
innovative vacuum deposition system technology that will apply antireflective
coatings to eyeglass lenses. This established the prerequisites needed to found
a third business sector which should generate initial revenues and earnings by
fiscal 2004.
The Supervisory Board appointed Dr. Reinhard Wollermann-Windgasse (53) to the
Managing Board in the capacity of Chief Operations Officer (COO) effective July
1, 2003. This addition to the Supervisory Board will sufficiently accommodate
corporate expansion, particularly in light of the instituted diversification.
