SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES Sells Further TIMARIS Vacuum Coating System

– TIMARIS order number seven in the current business year

– Currently eight systems in the order backlog

Kahl am Main, August 22, 2012 – SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES (SINGULUS) received an additional order for a TIMARIS vacuum coating machine a few days ago. The new ordered system will be used for applications in research and development.

‘Our systems are increasingly forming the basis for the development of new applications in the semiconductor sector. SINGULUS is the leading provider of vacuum coating machines for MRAM wafer, write/read heads and new semiconductor applications’, comments Dr. Stefan Rinck, CEO of the SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES AG.

Accordingly, the order backlog increases to eight systems. Due to promising talks about additional specific projects, the company expects further agreements to be concluded in the course of the current business year.
SINGULUS’ nano-coating technology is thus increasingly appealing to the production of MRAM memories and highly specialized sensors. The current development confirms the company’s favorable expectation regarding this segment’s future.

SINGULUS continues to expand its activities in the business segments Solar and Optical Disc. The goal is to attain a leading position in the silicon and thin-film solar technology as a machine supplier as well as a development partner for new cell concepts and to maintain the market leadership in the Optical Disc segment for production equipment for the manufacturing of dual-layer Blu-ray Discs. The business activities in the division Semiconductor are extensively strengthened in the course of the apparent growing market for MRAM semiconductor technology. In addition, the company reviews other sectors and work areas, where new market segments can be developed on the basis of the present know-how in the area of vacuum coating.
