SMA Solar Technology AG Presented its Third Capital Markets Day for International Investors and Analysts

Niestetal, Germany, September 15, 2011 – Today, SMA Solar Technology AG (SMA/FWB: S92) invited visitors to Niestetal for the company’s third Capital Markets Day. Around 50 investors and analysts from Germany and abroad took the opportunity to learn more about current developments at SMA at the company’s headquarters.

Pierre-Pascal Urbon, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer of SMA, presented the successful business model. The focus was on the company’s high technological capabilities, its international presence and the company’s high profitability. In addition, Urbon presented current developments in the photovoltaic market.

One of the most important topics of the future in the energy supply sector is the integration of ever-increasing quantities of electricity from renewable sources into the power distribution grid. SMA Chief Technology Officer Roland Grebe provided an overview of current SMA product developments and presented concepts for the central issues of grid integration and self-consumption. In addition, visitors to the SMA Capital Markets Day got plenty of opportunity to learn more about the latest product developments and concepts at the SMA Marktplatz (Marketplace) in the Solar Academy.

SMA is also further expanding its service competence in order to meet future demands on the solar industry. Participants of the Capital Market Day toured the construction site of the world’s largest service center for PV inverters. Starting in spring 2012, SMA will be bundling its service activities in the building, with the aim of further enhancing the range of services it offers to customers around the globe.

The Capital Markets Day ended with a tour of the world’s largest and carbon-neutral inverter production facility.
