The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– STADA: Sales and earnings forecast raised for 2002 Based on the good results of STADA Arzneimittel AG so far this fiscal year, at todays general meeting of shareholders the Company will significantly raise its growth forecast for fiscal year 2002. As of the end of May, sales in the three core segments of generics, branded products and special pharmaceuticals increased approx. +30%, while Group sales overall increased approx. +17%. The growth forecast for the core segments for the entire 2002 fiscal year is therefore being raised from the previous +15-20% to at least +25%. At the same time, the announced restructuring of Dutch wholesale activities that do not belong to the core segments will be completed as scheduled on June 30, 2002. In future, STADA will limit these non core activities in the Netherlands to the product-line portion of parallel imports and will thus deliberately forgo unprofitable business sales of approx. EUR 90 million per year. Nevertheless, the Executive Board expects growth for 2002 of significantly more than +10% for the Group as a whole. The sustained growth of the core segments and the restructuring of non core activities strengthens the earnings power of the Group in the future. For earnings before taxes (EBT), in 2002 to be calculated for the first time according to International Accounting Standards (IAS), STADA now expects an increase of up to at least EUR 60 million for the entire 2002 fiscal year. Compared to last years results, which were still calculated according to HGB, this represents anticipated earnings growth of over +25%.
