SURTECO SE: Preliminary results 2011
The sales of SURTECO SE, leading manufacturer of surface materials based on
plastics and technical papers for the international construction and
furnishing industry, rose by 5 % in the business year 2011 and reached a
volume of 408.8 million euros. Foreign sales increased by 6 % and sales in
the German market went up by 4 %. The proportion of foreign sales was
unchanged at 67 %.
The Strategic Business Unit Plastics generated sales of 234.5 million euros
during the course of the business year. This corresponds to a rise of 4 %.
The paper segment generated sales of 174.3 million euros (+7 %).
During the business year 2011, the SURTECO Group achieved an operating
result (EBITDA) of 56.1 million euros after 62.5 million euros in the
previous year. The preliminary pretax result amounted to some 22 million
euros (2010: 32.0 million euros). The deviation from the result for the
previous year essentially results from significant price rises for raw
materials which could not be passed on in full by the balance sheet date,
one-off effects and an impairment amounting to 3.5 million euros on the
package of shares in Pfleiderer AG, Neumarkt, held by SURTECO.
SURTECO SE will publish the complete, audited annual financial statements
for the business year 2011 on 27 April 2012.
