SUSS MicroTec AG Enlarges Executive Board

Ad-hoc-announcement transmitted by DGAP. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– SUSS MicroTec AG Enlarges Executive Board Munich, August 31, 2004 – Dr. Stefan Schneidewind (49) is appointed to the Executive Board of SUSS MicroTec AG as per September 1, 2004. He will assume responsibility for the production and technology areas that were previously split between CEO Dr. Franz Richter and CFO Stephan Schulak. With the company’s business operations expanding and its existing markets recovering, the Executive Board decided to make structural adjustments with the objective of reducing the company’s break-even sales figure from its current level of approx. EUR 115-120 million to a maximum of EUR 100 million over a period of 1-2 years. This should leave the company better prepared for the inevitable future cyclical fluctuations in the semiconductor industry’s business trend. Dr. Schneidewind joined SUSS MicroTec in 1989 and has worked in various functions in the field of research and development in Europe and the USA. Since early 2000, Dr. Schneidewind enjoyed great success as Managing Director of the subsidiary SUSS MicroTec Test Systems in Sacka, near Dresden, which continuously posted positive results even during the downturn of the past two years.
