The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. —————————————————————————— · Order entry also in the fourth quarter exceeds EUR 30 million · 2004 net sales up by more than 20% on previous year to nearly EUR 114 million · US dollar and special items put considerable pressure on results · Closure of Asslar production facility agreed with works council Munich, January 26, 2005 – According to preliminary unaudited figures, SUSS MicroTec AG increased its net sales in fiscal 2004 to nearly EUR 114 million from EUR 93 million in 2003. Order entry in the fourth quarter again exceeded EUR 30 million, with over EUR 120 million in new orders booked in the full year (previous year: EUR 101 million). The operating business was therefore largely in line with guidance in respect of order and sales development. Sales fell just short of the EUR 115 million to EUR 120 million target mainly as a result of the significant year-end decline in the US dollar exchange rate. For the full year 2004 the Management Board expects EBIT to be in the region of EUR minus 9 million – due primarily, along with the sales shortfall, to the following special items booked in the fourth quarter results: – EUR 4.6 million in restructuring costs and provisions (including compensation plan for the closure of the Asslar production facility and changes on the Management Board) – EUR 1.7 (2004 total: 1.0) million in foreign exchange book losses on internal US dollar loans Earnings after taxes will be burdened by the value adjustment (non-cash item) of a substantial part of deferred taxes on loss carry-forwards (EUR 5.5 million per Dec 21, 2003). Inventories at year’s end totaled nearly EUR 40 million (previous year: EUR 41.9 million). Year-end short-term net liquidity was over EUR 20 million (previous year: EUR 22.9 million).
