– 38% increase in Q1 revenues over previous year
– Optimization program carried out
– Considerable volume of incoming orders and order backlog
Munich – With sales revenues amounting to 5.2 million DM in the first
quarter of 2001, DataDesign AG was able to better last year’s performance by 38%
in spite of reducing staff from 183 to 149 employees. License and service
revenues increased from 2.2 million DM to 4.6 million DM, which spells even
steeper growth of 113%.
Even in the face of one-off costs in the amount of some 1.3 million DM
that the company incurred for optimization measures, the quarterly result
improved from negative 4.1 million DM in the previous year to negative 2.6
million DM this year.
Cost reduction measures were implemented in the first quarter. These
will have a significant effect on future performance, particularly during the
second quarter. By the end of the year, these measures are expected to yield
savings in the amount of 5.3 million DM. Incoming orders for the first quarter
tallied to 7.4 million DM, yet again topping previous years’ figures. The
backlog of orders currently amounts to 7.5 million DM.
