The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– At its meeting on Thursday, August 23, 2001, the Supervisory Board of technotrans AG, a leading systems supplier of equipment for the manufacture of print and optical storage media, appointed the Dutchman Ralph Teunissen (42) as the fourth member of the Board of Management with effect from October 1, 2001, as scheduled. Ralph Teunissen will in future be responsible for the areas Sales and Service. After graduating from the Graduate School of Management in Delft, Ralph Teunissen held various senior posts at companies within the graphic arts industry, which included an industrial printer and manufacturers of inks and varnishes. He has been in charge of sales operations of the entire technotrans group for the past year, with notable success. In view of his background and experience, Teunissen’s appointment is indicative of the company’s adherence to its strategy of international growth, which focuses principally on serving customer and market requirements. At this meeting of the Supervisory Board, the Board of Management in addition presented revised financial forecasts for the current year. According to these forecasts, group revenue will definitely reach the budgeted target of EUR 135 million (+ 29 percent on 2000). Due to one-off effects, the scheduled result (approx. EUR 8 million) will not be achieved by the end of the year, though the figure is likely to show a slight improvement on the prior-year result (EUR 5.4 million); the reasons for this shortfall are a one-off loss in the order of EUR 1.5 million as a result of new activities in the USA, the slower than anticipated rate of growth for CD/DVD business and additional expenditure on enhancing efficiency following the doubling of production capacity at the Sassenberg plant.
