On the basis of provisional figures for the third quarter of 2013, the
Board of Management of technotrans AG believes that it will no longer be
possible to achieve the revenue and earnings targets for the 2013 financial
year. The current position indicates that revenue for the 2013 financial
year will reach a total of around EUR 102 million (most recent forecast EUR
105 million). Due to the lower revenue, the EBIT margin for the full year
is likely to come in at around 3.5 percent (most recent target 6 percent).
Although the provisional figures indicate a year-on-year rise of 4.7
percent in the Q3 figures to approx. EUR 25.3 million, growth for the
Technology segment fell short of expectations at 0.7 percent. This
development can be attributed to the renewed downturn in business with
customers from the printing industry. The decline turned out to be much
sharper than could have been expected, even after adjustment for the
positive effects of the drupa in the same period of the previous year. EBIT
for the third quarter is expected to reach EUR 0.8 million, which
corresponds to an EBIT margin of 3.0 percent.
The company's medium and long term growth story remains intact. However the
Board of Management considers it realistic to make an initial growth
forecast of around 6 percent for the 2014 financial year, coupled with an
improvement in profitability that will yield an EBIT margin in the order of
6 to 7 percent. This would mean the company would achieve its targets one
year later as a result of the 2013 business performance.
