Munich, 4th October 2007 - Travel24.com AG’s management and supervisory
boards have today decided to issue 150,000 new convertible bonds from the
2006/2009 debenture loan. The issue will be placed ex rights with
interested investors by VEM Aktienbank at a price of EUR 2.30.
The issue is required in order to provide further growth impulse for the
tour operator subsidiary Direkt-Touristik AG, which recently posted a
welcome start. After a starting period and a planning stage of ca. half a
year, the new line of business recorded a strong growth in sales over the
last months due to co-operations with large retailers such as Tchibo, Netto
and EDEKA’s Niedrigpreis stores. As a consequence, management decided to
increase the focussing and internationalisation of the tour operator
business.
The as yet emerging market for travel products sold through large
distributors offers interesting and profitable growth potential both in
Germany as well as internationally. In order to push a methodical travel
distribution setup and with a view to achieving a lasting market position
as B2B travel supplier, a manageable amount of new funds are required which
may be generated through the issue of the convertible loan.
