Munich, 10 April 2008 – Developments in the first quarter were by all means
positive for Travel24.com AG and its wholly-owned subsidiary
Direkt-Touristik AG. From January to March tour operator subsidiary
Direkt-Tourist AG posted higher booking revenues than in the entire year
2007. This is mainly attributable to the successful cooperation with Netto,
the discounter of the Edeka Group. The Management Board anticipates that
the upward growth curve of Direkt-Touristik AG will continue in the next
quarters.
Based on the revenue from bookings the company is also expecting a balanced
result for the first quarter at a group level. This pleasing result is
borne by the positive development of subsidiary Direkt-Touristik AG on the
one hand and by the strong travel retail business via the portal
www.travel24.com on the other.
The company has meanwhile taken up negotiations with the main bond holders
with regard to an extension of the term of the bonds due in June 2008. The
Management Board is confident that the majority of the bond holders will
agree to an extension in the second quarter.
