The first nine months of 2002 have proven extremely successful for United Internet. Consolidated sales of United Internet AG increased, in comparison to last year, by over 34% to 222.8 million EUR. Earnings also made a very encouraging progress: the extraordinary items adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) rose to 43.8 million EUR (previous year: 12.6 million EUR). The United Internet Groups extraordinary items adjusted pre-tax earnings (EBT) increased to 27.6 million EUR (previous year: -39.9 million EUR. Thereof were 23.6 million EUR write-off of financial assets as well as goodwill write-downs totaling 9.5 million EUR included). Furthermore, the results are positively affected by extraordinary items accrued from the first half year of 2002 totaling 12.6 million EUR. Under consideration of these once-only extraordinary items, an EBITDA of 56.4 million EUR and an EBT of 40.2 million EUR have been achieved. Share earnings are 0.60 EUR (previous year: -0.70 EUR). Without consideration of extraordinary items, an adjusted earning of 0.31 EUR per share is achieved. As of September 30, 2002, the operative cash flow amounted to 35.2 million EUR (previous year: 4.5 million EUR).
