United Internet posts record figures

The first nine months of 2004 have been a successful period for United Internet. Consolidated sales of United Internet AG grew by 22 percent to EUR 365.9 million (prior-year: EUR 299.1 million). There was even stronger growth in profits: earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) grew by 35 percent to EUR 82.8 million (prior-year: EUR 61.2 million). Earnings before taxes (EBT) grew by 49 percent to EUR 66.2 million (prior-year: EUR 44.4 million). Earnings per share amount to EUR 0.68 (prior-year: EUR 0.46). As of September 30, 2004 consolidated net cash flows from operating activities amounted to EUR 59.9 million (prior-year: EUR 44.5 million). The number of paid subscriptions reached 3.33 million on September 30 (prior-year: 2.55 million), of which 930,000 (prior-year: 540,000) were DSL customers. Due to the positive development of business, United Internet AG has raised its EBT forecast for 2004 from EUR 80 million to around EUR 85 million (prior-year: EUR 64.8 million).
