United Internet got off to a successful start in its fiscal year 2005. Compared with the same period last year, consolidated sales revenues of United Internet AG grew by 33 percent to EUR 157.9 million (prior year: EUR 118.8 million). Earnings also made strong progress: earnings before taxes (EBT) increased by 47 percent to EUR 25.5 million (prior year: EUR 17.3 million). Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) grew by some 16 percent to EUR 30.4 million (prior year: EUR 26.3 million). Earnings per share amounted to EUR 0.25 (prior-year: EUR 0.16). Net cash flows from operating activities rose to EUR 21.1 million (prior-year: EUR 18.8 million). The number of fee-based customer contracts rose to 3.7 million as of March 31, 2005 (year-end 2004: 3.5 million). This figure includes 1.15 million DSL contracts – an increase of 100,000 DSL contracts since year-end 2004.
