New record sales and earnings figures for United Internet

The Executive Board and Supervisory Board of United Internet AG today announced the final figures for the first nine months of 2005. Compared with the same period last year, consolidated sales revenues of United Internet AG grew by 48.5 % to EUR 543.3 million (prior-year: EUR 365.9 million). Earnings before taxes (EBT) of the United Internet Group grew by 34.3 % to EUR 73.2 million (prior-year figure: EUR 54.5 million). Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) grew by 7.3 %, from EUR 81.7 million (prior-year figure) to EUR 87.7 million. Earnings per share (EPS) grew by 51.0 percent to EUR 0.74 (prior year: EUR 0.49). On September 30, 2005 the company had 4.21 million fee-based customer contracts (September 30, 2004: 3.33 million). The number of DSL customer contracts grew from 930,000 (September 30, 2004) to 1.53 million. In the third quarter of 2005 alone, 190,000 new DSL customers were gained.
