The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Basler increases orders received and improves operating result in 2002 Ahrensburg, 06.03.2003 – Basler AG, a leading company in the field of vision technology, maintained sales for the 2002 financial year at the previous year’s level of Euro 26.7 million, whilst reducing losses by 84 per cent to Euro -3.5 million. In the third quarter of 2002 the company achieved a positive quarterly result, a return to profitability on a quarterly basis following eight negative quarters. Orders received for the year as whole increased by 27 per cent to Euro 29 million. The corporate segment Vision Systems (quality control systems for use in industrial mass production) recorded sales of Euro 17.9 million (-7 per cent compared with 2001: Euro 19.3 million). The positive trend in incoming order levels has continued in the first two months of 2003 and the Management Board is therefore planning an increase in sales to Euro 30+ million and a break-even result for 2003.
