No.): 548956, Ticker Symbol: ULC UNITEDLABELS AG 2000: most successful year since its establishment – Revenues more than doubled, reaching EUR28.9m – Income increased substantially – Solid cash resources to ensure further expansion (Münster, 21 March 2001) UNITEDLABELS AG’s revenue for the 2000 fiscal year was doubled, reaching EUR28.9m (previous year: EUR13.6m). Achieving an increase of 129.4%, operating income grew substantially and now stands at EUR2,904m (previous year: EUR1,299m). At the same time, earnings before interest and taxes increased to EUR2,629m (previous year: EUR1,395m). Within the first year after going public, the Münster-based specialist for products sold under licence has therefore posted a result that is more than forty per cent above the figure of revenues and income presented as part of its IPO performance targets. UNITEDLABELS AG’s success during its first post-IPO fiscal year is mainly attributed to the company’s organic growth of more than 80% but is also a result of its acquisition of licensing specialists in Belgium and Spain, as well as the inclusion of further highly successful comic characters within its portfolio. Following the integration and organisation of its newly acquired companies Colombine bvba (Belgium) and Jocky Team S.A. (Spain) into fully synchronized competence centres, the comicware specialist UNITEDLABELS AG intends to focus on global expansion in Asia and America. For the current fiscal year, UNITEDLABELS expects to generate revenues of EUR46m. As of December 31st, 2000 the company was able to fall back on more than half of its funds generated as part of its IPO.
